Oakwood Village Hall is pleased to announce a free training session in early Autumn on the use of defibrillators and basic life-saving techniques, organized by Central Surrey First Responders. This vital free training event is scheduled to be held at the Oakwood Hill Village Hall and is open to all community members
We are delighted to offer this training session free of charge, thanks to the collaborative efforts of our dedicated volunteers and the support of the South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SECAMB) who have stated:
“We are here to support our community and ensure everyone has access to these crucial life-saving skills.”
This initiative aims to equip residents with essential life-saving skills, ensuring that our community is prepared to respond effectively in emergency situations.
As this course is provided free, by their volunteers, we kindly ask that participants consider making a small donation to Central Surrey First Responders on the day. These donations will directly support the vital work they do in our community, helping them continue to offer such essential training and emergency response services.
The Hall is being given free of charge and this event has been arranged by us as part of our commitment to the community.
The need for such training has been strongly voiced through community conversations and research, highlighting a widespread desire to learn how to use defibrillators and perform basic life-saving techniques. We are thrilled to have received the go-ahead for at least one session and look forward to seeing many community members take advantage of this opportunity.
Okewood Hill is lucky enough to have a defibrillator at the Punchbowl Inn, if anyone should need to use it. Incidentally that Defib was bought from money raised by local residents and the Resident’s Association continues to replace batteries etc. at their cost
To express your interest in participating, please contact us via this post, the email below or our FB page or the What’s App group. We will soon announce the specific date and times for the training session which depends on their availability, but is likely to be a weekday evening in October.
